Indicted Democrat William Jefferson Ousted From Office

Indicted democrat William Jefferson, the legislator who used his freezer as an ATM machine, was ousted from office by Lousiana voters. Republican Anh “Joseph” Cao denied the democrat a 10th term in office.

Recall that the 95-page affidavit which was utilized to secure a search warrant for Jefferson’s home identified that an August 2005 search of the Congressman’s home revealed $90,000 in cash contained in his freezer.  Jefferson was actually caught on video accepting “$100,000 in $100 bills from an FBI informant whose conversations with the lawmaker were recorded.” The $100 bills contained in the suitcase contained the same serial numbers as those which were found in Jefferson’s freezer. “The money was stuffed in his freezer, wrapped in $10,000 packs and concealed in food containers and aluminum foil.”

Jefferson can now focus all of his energy on his defense after pleading not guilty to bribery, laundering money and misusing his congressional office.
