Judge Sotomayor: The Unwise Latina
“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would, more often than not, reach a better conclusion.” – Supreme court nominee Judge Sonia Sotomayor used these or similar words in speeches made in 1994, 1999, 2001, 2002 and 2004.
Imagine for a moment Chief Justice John Roberts, or Justice Antonin Scalia repetitively making the statement that a wise “White Male” with the richness of his experiences would, more often than not, reach a better conclusion than [insert color/gender here]. These original intent jurists would have been automatically disqualified by the main stream media and branded “racists” by liberal dumbocrats.
Republican Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) recently declared to Communist News Network:
“If there are no otherwise disqualifying matters here, it appears to me she will probably be confirmed.”
Here is one disqualifying matter for you to consider Orrin: Judge Sotomayor legislating from the bench. She has publicly claimed the Court of Appeals is where policy is made:
At least Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) recognizes what type of judicial philosophy Sotomayor would bring to the Supreme Court. He is the first Republican to clearly confirm his opposition to her nomination:
“She has made statements on the role of the appeals court I think is improper and incorrect,” Roberts said. “I think that we should be judging people not on race and gender, or background or ethnicity or a very compelling story.”
Here is another, and another, and another, reason why Sotomayor should be Borked.
