Maxine Waters (Another Democrat) to Face Ethics Charges

It appears the “swamp” Shrieker Nancy Pelosi promised to drain is still producing ethically challenged democrats. Maxine (a/k/a MARXine for wanting to socialize the oil industry)Waters, a democrat from California, is the latest to face charges of ethics violations.

The House Ethics Committee is expected to announce today or tomorrow that it has formed an “adjudicatory subcommittee” to try Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters on charges of ethics violations.

The committee’s announcement will make Waters the second Democrat to face an ethics trial this fall, creating a distraction for the Democratic Party as it heads into the midterm elections.

The 10-term lawmaker from Los Angeles has been under investigation since 2009 for assisting a bank to which she had personal connections in getting federal bailout money.

In 2008, Waters organized a meeting between Treasury officials and executives from OneUnited Bank, where her husband was once a board member and had large investments. The bank received $12 million from the federal government’s Troubled Asset Relief Program. Waters, who serves on the House Financial Services Committee, has defended her request for the meeting as part of her efforts to advocate on behalf of minority-owned businesses. SOURCE.

In case you missed the latest quote from Madam Shrieker, on Sunday, Nancy Pelosi claimed:

Bipartisanship is a two-way street. A bill can be bipartisan without bipartisan votes. [emphasis added]

When asked to grade the past year, Pelosi said, “I think I get an A for effort”.

In this morning’s  USA Today, dumbocrat Shrieker of the House Nancy Pelosi and her lackey, Steny Hoyer claim:

Now — with Americans strongly supporting health insurance reform, with Congress reaching consensus on a plan, and with a president who ran and won on this specific promise of change — America is closer than ever to this century-deferred goal.

A recent Rasmussen Poll indicated 54% of Americans favor middle class tax cuts over new health care spending. A separate Rasmussen Poll released today revealed that only 32% of Americans favor a single-payer health care system. 52% believe a single-payer program would lead to lower quality health care. While it is subject to debate whether or not Americans strongly support health insurance “reform”, I would submit to Madam Shrieker and Stinky Hoyer that the majority of Americans who voiced opposition to your plan are opposed to health care destruction.  H.R. 3200 clearly destroys their freedom to choose and select their health care providers.

These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American. Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades.

What “facts” does the Shrieker and Stinky rely on? H.R. 3200 begins:

To provide affordable, quality health care for all Americans and reduce the growth in health care spending, and for other purposes.

Here are a few “facts” contained in the bill which they want to drown out:

• Sec. 122, Pg. 29, Lines 4-16: rations health care available to you. (Rationing can certainly affect the affordability of your health care)
• Sec. 123, Pg. 30: a government committee will decide FOR YOU, what treatment and benefits you get. (A bureaucrat who makes these decisions can certainly reduce health care spending. You dying from a lack of treatment will inevitably reduce future health care costs.)
• Sec. 152, Pg. 50-51: health care is provided to ALL NON-US Citizens. (i.e. illegals who are not “Americans” receive treatment that Americans tax dollars pay for).

On Friday [July 19, 2009], Democrats moved one step closer to giving free health insurance to the nation’s estimated 12 million illegal aliens when they successfully defeated a Republican-backed amendment, offered by Rep. Dean Heller, R-Nev., that would have prevented illegal aliens from receiving government-subsidized health care under the proposed plan backed by House Democrats and President Barack Obama. [emphasis added]

The House Ways and Means Committee nixed the Heller amendment by a 26-to-15 vote along straight party lines, and followed this action by passing the 1,018-page bill early Friday morning by a 23-to-18 margin, with three Democrats voting against the plan.

The Democratic plan will embrace Obama’s vision of bringing free government medical care to more than 45 million uninsured people in America – a significant portion of whom are illegal aliens.

Democrats and those who support this debacle under the guise of “reform” are out to destroy your freedom. That Madam Shrieker is  un-American.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is one of the most despised political figures in the country.

And, frankly, she doesn’t give a damn.

“No, I don’t care,” Pelosi told POLITICO last Thursday, laughing heartily as she walked beneath the Capitol dome and plunged into a crowd of tourists.

Last week’s Public Strategies Inc./POLITICO poll brought grim news for Pelosi, revealing that only a quarter of Americans trust the San Francisco Democrat — putting her in the basement with Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio).

Mention of the “trust” question halted the click-clack of Pelosi’s heels against Rotunda marble, and she turned to face the reporter who posed the question.

“I don’t know about ‘trust’ — I think I’m trusted,” she said.

“I certainly want to be trusted. I’m not particularly concerned if I’m liked.”

But month after month of polling shows that the speaker is neither trusted nor liked by the general public — even as she emerges from one of the most productive legislative periods any speaker has ever enjoyed.

She is the wife of Dumbocrat John Conyers (D-MI) who became the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee in 2007.  I assume that is why she was released on a personal bond. Americans Favor Cheney over Pelosi

In a recent USA Today/Gallup Poll (May 29-31), Americans have a 37% “favorable view” of former Vice-President Dick Cheney. Madam Shrieker, Nancy “The CIA lied”  Pelosi’s “favorable view” is at 34%. She currently registered a 50% “unfavorable” rating.
